what black sabbath albums should I get that I don't have?
so far I have
black sabbath
paranoid
heaven and hell
the mob rules
live evil
born again
seventh star
dehumanizer
heaven and hell live at radio city music hall
heaven and hell the devil you know
I was also wondering if the tony martin era albums are any good
tombud has been blocked for writing something that has nothing to do with the question and insulting someone over their opinion
Can't really add much to what has been said. Tony Martin era: Yes absolutely. I also really liked the first non Ozzy album "Black Sabbath Featuring Tony Iommi".
A couple that you don't need: "Never Say Die" the final nail in the Ozzy Era coffin. More than anything, this one showed why that split HAD to happen, and Sabbath and Ozzy were both better for it. I also found "Abominog" (sp?) to be pretty bad Loved Ian Gilliam w/ Deep Purple but was not a good fit with Sabbath.
I also recomend the albums Tony Iommi has put out under the name "Iommi". The first features a collection of different vocalists and is actually the best of the 3 the other 2 feature Glenn Hughes on vocals, hard to go wrong with him singing.

Black Sabbath - Mob Rules $22.9 Black Sabbath: Ronnie James Dio (vocals); Tony Iommi (guitar); Geezer Butler (bass); Vinnie Appice (drums).Additional personnel: Geoff Nicholls (keyboards).Recorded at The Record Plant, Los Angeles, California.U.K. remastered rerelease includes original album artwork.Black Sabbath had put itself back on track both musically and commercially with the 1980 album HEAVEN AND HELL, as the addition of new vocalist Ronnie James Dio was the shot in the arm Sabbath needed. A follow-up was released one year later, MOB RULES, which follows in the same mega-decibel approach as its predecessor. While it is still a vast improvement over Sabbath`s final two albums with Ozzy Osbourne (1976`s TECHNICAL ECSTASY and 1978`s NEVER SAY DIE), it doesn`t exactly match the inspired performances and top compositions featured on HEAVEN AND HELL.The opening track, "Turn Up the Night," kicks off the album with a jolt of electricity, while other hard rocking highlights include the mid-paced "Voodoo" and the raging title track--the latter would be featured on the soundtrack to the cult animated movie, HEAVY METAL. Another standout was the near eight-minute epic "The Sign of the Southern Cross," which starts as a gentle acoustic composition, before transforming into a classic slice of plodding Sabbath metal. Although Dio had been a major factor in returning Sabbath back from the dead, he would leave the group under less than amicable circumstances after the release of the 1982 live album LIVE EVIL.
